PRESS KIT
“Lunattack” a.k.a Barbara Duchow is a Hamburg & Toulouse based singer, songwriter, producer and collaborating artist, who works together with international musicians and visual artists in her different projects.
Lunattack delivers a powerful electro-rock experience mixed up with elements of indie and ambient. Her texts are always about the deep human capacity for transformation and the possibility to draw new life power from one’s own injuries, fears and traumas.
For her new project "The Lost Tail" which is released 19th to 20th of May 2022 at midnight, she worked together with the British musician and composer Jacqueline La a.k.a Jacqueline Langham from Brighton. The two-female producer Lunattack an Jacqueline La are kicking off a new Crowdfunding with this stunning Single and Music video.
Don’t miss out to support female producers:

The project was funded by the Hamburg Music Council via a scholarship for future music and supported by a crowdfunding for female producers (still far too rare). As a result, the single could be produced in the legendary producer camp of Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studio with the support of all the stunning musicians, mentors and mixing and mastering professionals.
Please take the time look up the world ranking names of all the people in the credits at the end of the video that made this project come true.
The story behind The Lost Tail, which is a word play between tail and tale, if you only hear the word tail it sounds like tale, has been on Lunattack´s mind for decades. It deals with the inseparability of two basic human needs: our need to connect with the world around us as much as our necessity to tell stories to each other. Actually both seem fragile and endangered in todays world.
Our deepest desire no longer remembers how much our ability to feel happiness depends on how naturally our ‚animal nature’ is able to connect with the world around us. Animals use their tail to share information and feel at home in their movements, their expressions, their body. We have largely lost these ways of remembering ourselves. What if we finally remembered? We would feel the pain of this loss. All the tales that led to this would have to be told, real words, felt life would break out of us and with every memory we would connect deeper and deeper with the world body, as much as with our own.
We would carry out the old movements that have always created connectedness. We would speak the old words that only sound when they are spoken together. We would sing the songs that resonate from our bones.

“The Lost Tail” is all about that. Remembering the loss. Reconnecting with the nature inside of us all.
The video is the spectacular kick-off for a new crowdfunding. We want to use the extreme energy we felt while working on the new digital single "The Lost Tail" and add a whole digital EP with new songs and videos. The topic has to be brought into the world! We all have to find our lost tale/tail again, so that the story of humanity can be told.
The Lost Tail is inspired by the film Avatar. The the Na´vi tribe of the forest (Blue Flute clan) in this movie still have this tail, while we are only left with the tailbone.

JACQUELINE LA / SHORT BIO
Jacqueline Langham (aka Jacqueline La) based in Brighton, UK and studied Music and Visual Art at Brighton University. She has always been instinctively musical. Having a piano in the family home helped nurture her interest in musical sounds, (along with her mums saucepans of course). Rhythm is an important aspect of her music production, she flits between electronic beats and ambient chilled meanderings.
“Having the opportunity to collaborate with Lunattack in 2021 at Real World Studios was exciting, we produced something I am very happy with. ‘The Lost Tail’ is tribal, has piano and rhythm which is all a bit of me.”
LUNATTACK / SHORT BIO
“Lunattack” a.k.a Barbara Duchow is a Hamburg & Toulouse based singer, songwriter, producer and collaborating artist, who works together with international musicians and visual artists in her different projects. Electro rock-pop music creator with storytelling in English, German and French.
LUNATTACK / LONG BIO
LUNATTACK delivers a powerful electro-rock-pop experience, with a touching insight into a life story that defies pre-assembled patterns and breaks free of an inconvenient lineage. For Barbara Duchow, Hamburg native and creator of Lunattack, this has meant a long journey of escape and searching for her own compass. Her exploration is heavily influenced by the invisible and lasting weight passed on to german grandchildren of the Second World War.
Duchow allows helplessness, anger and disappointment to sweep comfortably through her stories, as the moments of joy and love take on power and depth.
Since 2014 she has worked a lot together with the guitarist, singer and songwriter Lone Kent (Toulouse) in the music composition of her first songs. 2015 she started to work with the Venezuelan visual artist Arnaldo González to create the Lunattack’s visual art presence. Bit by bit incredible musicians, producers and performers have given their creativity and support to each live performances and wherever she goes she invites guest artists to join her. This dynamic has made Lunattack be enriched by a kind of wonderful creative hybrid.
2017 she has released her debut album “Pont Neuf” with Pussy Empire Recording in Hamburg. 2018 the music composer and producer Toneaffair a.k.a Julian Laping (Berlin) had created the remixes versions (electro, techno and drum and bass) from the “Pont Neuf” album.
2019 Lunattack had released new songs and EPs in collaboration with other artists and producers like Graham George (Scotland) with the song "Dream in Black and White" for the Beatcamp Album compilation #003 at the Real World Studios (England) and "Escape" EP from her collaboration with the Toulouse based band “Elephant Memories”.
"Lunattack and Elephant Memories" has performed live in support of different charities, recently performed at the "Enorock Festival" (2020) at Le Metronum in Toulouse, France, as well as at Halle 424 in Hamburg, Germany in 2019.
2020 Lunattack released "Nacht" single song written by Niklas Lüders, produced by SIJO & Niklas Lüders, and released the visual album PONT NEUF REMIXES with Toneaffair and Arnaldo González.
2021 in collaboration with the American guitarist and singer/songwriter Lone Kent, Lunattack released her first vinyl LP "Moon Kiss" with Elephant Memories featuring 4 singles with music videos. In the same year she released Lunattack (Unplugged Sessions Vol.1) digital EP with the acoustic guitar by Lucas Ghelfi
At the end of 2021 Lunattack returns to the artistic residence of Real World Studios in the UK, collaborating with the British artist Jacqueline La with the song "The Lost Tail" and with the Scottish Graham George for the song "Wondertime" included in the compilation album Real World Producer Camp, Vol 1.
