Lunattack - Dream in black and white

DREAM IN BLACK AND WHITE

VIDEO COMING SOON

"Lunattack" delivers a powerful electro-rock-pop experience, with a touching insight into a life story that defies pre-assembled patterns and breaks free of an inconvenient lineage. For Barbara Duchow, Hamburg native and creator of Lunattack, this has meant a long journey of escape and searching for her own compass. Her exploration is heavily influenced by the invisible and lasting weight passed on to german grandchildren of the Second World War. Duchow allows helplessness, anger and disappointment to sweep comfortably through her stories, as the moments of joy and love take on power and depth.

ABOUT

Lunattack is an international production founded by Barbara Duchow. Since 2014 she has worked a lot together with the guitarist, singer and songwriter Lone Kent (Toulouse) in the music composition of her songs. From 2015 she started to work with the venezuelan visual artist Arnaldo González to develop the Lunattack´s art concepts and visual presence. Bit by bit incredibles musicians, producers and dancers have given their creativity and support to each live performances and wherever they go they invite guest artists to join them. This dynamic has made Lunattack be enriched by a kind of wonderful creative hybrid. 2017 they have publisched their debut album “Pont Neuf” with Pussy Empire Recording in Hamburg. In 2018 the music composer, producer Julian Laping (Berlin) had created the remixes versions (electro, techno and drum and bass) from “Pont Neuf” album. Since April 2019 Lunattack had released a new song cooperating with Graham George (Scotland) in the Beatcamp Album compilation #003 at the Real World Studios (England) and at the same time they started a collaboration with the Toulouse based band “Elephant Memories” with which they are working on a new release.

Barbara Duchow. performer, coach and director based in Hamburg, Toulouse and New York.

BARBARA DUCHOW

born 1966 in Hamburg, is an internationally working performer, coach and director based in Hamburg, Toulouse and New York.

Her current project delivers a touching insight into a life story that defies pre-assembled patterns in search of breaking free of an inconvenient lineage. In this powerful electro-pop-rock experience, Duchow unfolds stories of alienation and blindness, displacement and pain, revenge and forgiveness, resurrection from darkness and the surprising brightness of disappointment.

You cannot break away from your own story, but many of us try. Even if that means moving to other continents and embracing foreign cultures - just to touch, to feel, to understand your own roots. This is the essence of this album. The songs also relate the pain of expulsion and deprivation of rights. They tell the story of a uprooting and a subsequent loss of one's own compass.

Duchow allows helplessness, anger and disappointment to sweep comfortably through her stories while moments of joy and love take on power and depth. The stories of her own family, friends and encounters, establish a counterweight to forced collective narratives, undiscussed political correctness and the ignorance of inherited pain. Understanding allows ecstasy to enter the heart as it acknowledges and overcomes even the darkest abysm.

Duchow’s exploration is also heavily influenced by the invisible and lasting weight passed on to german grandchildren of the Second World War as she begins to understand her own generation.

Barbara Duchow, professional singer, Lunattack

Barbara Duchow has travelled a lot in her life. As a seeker, lover, fugitive, soulsister, artist, teacher and coach. She has always been confronted with the necessity to acquaint herself with the unspoken. This gave birth to a specific artistic language relating self-story to the foreign story and the distant to the intimate. The intrinsic charm of this special language lies in the distinct, weighted and poetic atmosphere created by Duchows voice. Each listening avoids decisiveness as the listener’s own story finds its place joining the shine of a hiker between worlds.

Lone Kent, professional musician, Tolouse

The American Lone Kent, has worked over two years with Barbara Duchow composing the 12 songs of the Lunattack repertoire. Lone Kent, born in Germany, brought up in Vietnam, Thailand, Lebanon, Greece, France and Scotland to name just a few, lived and worked on the East Coast and in San Francisco after his studies at Berkley College of Music in Boston. He has worked with artists throughout Europe including experimental new music composer Hector Zazou. Now based in Toulouse, Kent is the composer and the leader of “GuitarKestra“, a 12 piece guitar band. Since 2014 he had worked with Barbara Duchow sharing development of most of the “Lunattack” repertoire.

Arnaldo González, Visual Artist from Caracas, Venezuela,

Arnaldo González, born 1986 in Caracas, Venezuela, studied Fine Art in Venezuela and Germany. In his work he deals with his place as an immigrant and experiments with a permanent transformation of self-perception. His videos for “Lunattack“ strongly illustrate the songs and resonate with Duchows issues of an acquirement of the strange and a sustained relocation of oneself.
